Funeral Services Held Tuesday at LuVerne For Nels Holm

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 17, at the LuVerne Methodist Church for Nels Holm, 78, who passed away last Saturday at Mason City where he had made his home for several years.

Nels P. Holm passed away at his home in Mason City, February 14, 1948 at the age of 78 years and 10 months. He was born at Borns, Hardersler, Denmark and came to this country in 1888. He spent 23 years in Shelby County, Iowa, near Harlan, Iowa. In 1911, he and his brother Hans and family moved to the farm in Vernon township where he lived until 1945. He served on the board of trustees for Vernon township for 23 years and always lead a prominent part in all public activities. He leaves to mourn, one brother in Denmark, one brother of Mason City and a number of other relatives and friends.

Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Will Holm of Ottowa, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Zenther of Winnebago, Minn.; Mrs. Ray Bennett of Marshalltown; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Klaessy of Marshalltown; Mrs. Sam Klaessy and sons, Earl and Don of Spencer; Mrs. Howard Johnson of Mason City
