    Dorothy Belknap, a long time resident of Midland, died Tuesday in Tomball, Texas at the age of 83. Born in Independence, Kansas to John and Helen Thompson on June 21, 1929. She grew up in Texas and graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Art and Geology. She married Barton Belknap on Oct 23, 1951. Together they raised four children while living in New Mexico and Texas. After Bart's retirement from Exxon they traveled frequently to Alaska, Europe and Russia. They were married for 38 years until Bart's death in 1989. Dorothy was a long time member of The Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity. She enjoyed art, painting and traveling. She moved to Tomball in the fall of 2010 to live closer to her family. Dorothy is survived by her children Kevin Belknap and wife Patti of Arlington, Bruce Belknap of Carrolton, Shannon Belknap of League City, and Laurel Nicholas and husband John of Tomball. She is also survived by her brother Jack Thompson of Westborough, Mass., his wife Norma and their family. Dorothy was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Brian, Austin, Michael, Aubrey, and Kelly. Visitation will be at Ellis Funeral Home in Midland on Friday evening, March 15, from 7 to 8 PM. Funeral services will held on Saturday afternoon March 16, at 1 PM at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity. Graveside service will be held immediately afterwards at Resthaven Memorial Park.     Born in Independence, Kansas, he was the son of the late John H. and Helen M. (Quitzau) Thompson. He was raised and educated in Texas and was a graduated of Texas Tech. John also served with the U.S Navy.

    John was employed as a chemical engineer for Bay State Abrasives and in later years owned and operated Compass Labs in Westborough. Being an entrepreneur he had three U. S. Patents for grinding wheels.

    He enjoyed traveling and had visited 40 countries, all 50 states and all the Presidential Libraries. He also enjoyed investing and the stock market and was a member of The Congregational Church of Westborough.

    In addition to his wife he is survived by his family, Robert Thompson, Paul Hogan, Ann Holm, Joseph Holm, Rachel Holm, Dylan Holm, Linda Maneen, Joseph Maneen, Jr., Kaylee Maneen and Joseph Maneen, III.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, September 6, from 4 to 7 P.M. at the David A. Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.

    Services and burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private.

    THOMAS Q. TAYLOR, 74, died June 11 at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in Banning. Born in Portland, Ore., Mr. Taylor lived in Banning 10 years. He was a film editor at MGM and a life member of Film Technicians Local 683. He also worked for two years as an administrative assistant for the CIA.

    He served in the U.S. Navy in 1945 and 1946.

    Mr. Taylor was a 1949 graduate of Loyola University of Los Angeles.

    He was a Banning Police Department volunteer and a member of the Drama Club and the paddle tennis team at Sun Lakes Country Club.

    He is survived by his longtime companion, Riggie Biermann of Banning; a daughter, Elizabeth Krieger of Barstow; a son, Sidney of Venice; and a sister, Sydney "Joanie" Hinderer of Redding.

    Memorial services were private. Weaver Mortuary in Beaumont handled arrangements.
